Terms of Use

These terms govern this website. Last updated 16 September 2026.

1. Who these terms are with

This website is published and operated by ROOT38 LIMITED of Burton-on-Trent, United Kingdom (“the Publisher”), the developer of the Android application Event Countdown. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using it.

2. What this website is

It is an informational site about one Android application: what it does, what is free and what is not, how to set it up, what permissions it needs and how to get support. It is documentation, not a shop and not a distribution channel.

The site does not sell anything, does not take payment, does not host an installable file and does not require an account. Every install button links to the application’s listing on Google Play, which is the only place the Publisher distributes it.

3. The app, the store and this website

Three different things, governed by different documents, and it is worth being precise about which is which:

• This website is governed by these terms and by its privacy policy.
• The application is governed by the app’s own terms and privacy policy.
• The purchase — including any subscription, renewal, refund or cancellation — is a transaction with Google Play and is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and Google’s refund policy.

4. Premium, subscriptions and cancellation

This section restates, in one place, the commercial terms the Publisher publishes on the Google Play listing. Nothing here replaces Google Play’s own terms, which prevail over anything on this website.

• The application is free to install and free to use, with unlimited countdowns. The free version is funded by advertising displayed inside the app; the Play listing carries a Contains ads badge.
• Premium is optional and is offered in two forms: a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Google Play lists in-app items in this app at $1.99–$49.99 per item.
• Payment is charged to your Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
• A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal charge is taken within the 24 hours before the period ends and identifies the cost of the renewal.
• A subscription is managed and cancelled in your Google Play account settings. It cannot be cancelled from inside the application and it cannot be cancelled through this website. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not shorten or refund the period already paid for. Uninstalling the application does not cancel a subscription.
• Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited if you purchase a subscription during it.
• Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. The Publisher cannot process a payment or a refund through this website.
• Prices quoted on this website are indicative, taken from the Play listing at the time of writing. The price displayed in Google Play at the moment of purchase, in your own currency and inclusive of any applicable tax, is the one that applies.

Where you buy as a consumer, your statutory cancellation and refund rights under the law of your country of residence apply in addition to the above, and nothing here limits them. Step-by-step cancellation instructions are in the FAQ.

5. Acceptable use

You may read these pages, print them, and link to them. You may not:

• copy the text or layout to publish a site that imitates this one or the application;
• present yourself as the Publisher, or as an authorised distributor, reseller or support channel for the application;
• redistribute the application, or offer an installable file of it, anywhere other than Google Play — any such file did not come from the Publisher, and its contents cannot be vouched for;
• use the sharing features of the application to send unsolicited messages, or to share another person’s personal information without their consent;
• interfere with the site: scraping in a way that burdens the server, probing it for vulnerabilities, or attempting to gain access to anything not publicly served.

6. Intellectual property and trademarks

The text, layout, code and design of this website belong to the Publisher, as do the application and its name and icon. Nothing here grants a licence to reuse them beyond ordinary reading and linking.

Android, Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. The Publisher is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC, and references to Google Play describe the distribution platform rather than implying any relationship beyond that of a developer publishing an application on it. Screenshots on this site are the Publisher’s own promotional artwork as published on Google Play. Any other product or company name that appears belongs to its respective owner and is used descriptively.

7. Accuracy of what is published here

These pages are kept accurate as far as is reasonably possible, but software changes: screens get renamed, features move between the free and Premium tiers, and figures such as install counts, ratings and prices move. Where this site and the Google Play listing disagree, the listing is authoritative.

Three things are stated deliberately and should not be read as promises to the contrary:

• The application counts down to dates. It is not a task manager, a project planner or a replacement for a calendar application, and it makes no claim to improve productivity, memory or organisation.
• Figures quoted on this site are those published on the Google Play listing for this application. No ranking, award or cross-platform total is claimed here, and any such claim appearing in third-party material is not made by this website.
• Which features sit in the free version and which require Premium is stated as at the date at the top of this page. That allocation is the Publisher’s to change, and the Google Play listing and the app itself are the current record of it.

8. Links to other sites

This site links to Google Play, to Google support documentation, and to the privacy policy and terms of the application. Those destinations are outside this site’s control and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. A link is not an endorsement of anything else that may appear on the destination.

9. Disclaimer and liability

This website and its content are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. The Publisher does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Publisher is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or data, arising from use of this website or reliance on information published on it. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and for fraud. Where you deal as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Liability in connection with the application and with any purchase is governed separately, by the app’s own terms and by the Google Play Terms of Service.

10. Availability and changes

The site may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time, and these terms may be updated. The current version is always the one on this page, with its date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, stop using the site.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, nor of the right to bring proceedings there where local law provides it.
